Behaviour changes

  • English toolbar labels use the familiar words: Numbered / Bulleted List, Align Left / Center / Right, Justify, Strikethrough, Clear Formatting, Background Color, Find and Replace, Full Screen, Heading 1-6. Command names are unchanged.
  • Keyboard shortcut hints live in config.keyboardShortcutHints and appear in tooltips only, so dialog titles and accessible names no longer carry them (showKeyboardShortcutsInTooltips turns them off).
  • Ctrl+Shift+H only highlights; revision history moved to Ctrl+Alt+Shift+H. Find & Replace keeps the first matched character’s formatting. More Markdown block shortcuts fire, including - [ ] for to-do lists. The phone toolbar is one row that scrolls sideways.

A translated interface

The 12 major language packs now cover every English string: dialogs, menus, comments, revision history, track changes, the accessibility checker and the AI Toolkit. Packs name their locale (text_uilocale), so language menus and date chips follow the page’s language, and the emoji picker names its emoji in that language too.

Keyboard, phones and dark mode

A click selects a rule, page break, video, chip or footnote reference, and the keys act on it. Revision history, comments and URL suggestions work from the keyboard. Find and Replace, Insert Code, Insert Video, Insert Template and the Image Gallery fit a phone screen, and dialogs are readable in dark mode. Mentions registered with search(query, done) or an async search now open, as the docs describe.

Editing, review and export

Select All + Bold takes 70 ms instead of up to 33 s, and Replace All of 3,000 matches 0.2 s. Suggesting mode records or refuses every structural edit, revision history keeps each document’s versions apart, and Word, PDF and Markdown keep list numbering, captions, merged cells and more on a round trip. New: editor.makePanelResizable and the panelresized event.

Known issues

The ASP.NET Core MVC, Razor Pages and Blazor demo projects reference SixLabors.ImageSharp 3.1.12, which has known advisories; review it before using that demo code in production. A replacement is planned.
