RichTextEditor 2.16.0

A fix for a page freeze when a heading or quote was applied across a list, and ten editing-structure fixes found by a new random-editing tester. Core 2.6.11 → 2.6.12 (923,201 bytes).

Latest
2.16.0

Fixed: the page froze

  • Selecting paragraphs, a list and the paragraph after it, then choosing Heading or Quote, looped for ever and froze the tab, losing unsaved edits. Every browser, in 2.6.11 and earlier.

Fixed: structure the editor produced and then saved

  • Numbered list with the caret on a quote could delete the quotation.
  • Paragraph, Heading, Quote or Code from a caret in a list item, or in a paragraph with line breaks, nested the new block inside the old one in Chrome, Edge and Safari.
  • Inserting or pasting a table, list or paragraph inside a link or bold text put the block inside it.
  • Tab and Shift+Tab over a paragraph and list items together made a quotation and invalid nested items.
  • Enter, typing or Backspace across a code block nested it in a paragraph; merging text into a code block in Safari saved the editor theme’s font and background into the text.
  • Heading anchor ids reached the change event late, so hosts saving on change missed them.
  • editor.execCommand("lineheight", value) ignored the value and opened the picker.
  • The image editor’s Save stayed on “Saving...” when the upload handler threw; the error now shows.

Each fix has its own test in the release gate, run in Chromium, Firefox and WebKit.
