WCAG 2.2 AA readiness report

A criterion-level summary for product evaluation. It is not a VPAT, an Accessibility Conformance Report based on the VPAT template, independent certification, or a claim that every WCAG criterion has been audited.

Evidence boundary. “Supports” below means the shipped default editor has an implemented path and repository regression evidence for the stated behavior. It does not cover customer skins, host-page markup, third-party plugins, authored content quality, or untested assistive-technology combinations.
Selected WCAG 2.2 success criteria, self-assessed status, and evidence notes
CriterionStatusEvidence and limitation
1.3.1 Info and RelationshipsSupportsNative headings, lists and tables; labelled toolbar groups and dialogs. Authors must explicitly mark table header cells.
1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum)SupportsDefault light theme targets 4.5:1 text contrast; automated theme checks cover shipped tokens.
1.4.10 ReflowSupportsEditor and framework demos are exercised at narrow mobile widths and 200% zoom without horizontal page overflow.
1.4.11 Non-text ContrastSupportsFocus indicators and default control boundaries target 3:1 against adjacent colors.
2.1.1 KeyboardSupportsToolbar, editing surface, dialogs, menus, tables, comments, tracked changes and AI review have keyboard paths.
2.1.2 No Keyboard TrapSupportsEscape leaves the editing area and moves focus to the toolbar, from which Tab continues through the page; the route is announced in the editing area's accessible name. Tab deliberately retains its editing meaning (indent, next table cell).
2.4.3 Focus OrderSupportsEach toolbar is a single tab stop with arrow-key roving focus per the ARIA toolbar pattern; direction follows reading order in RTL. Verifiable live at /trust/verify.
2.4.7 Focus VisibleSupportsShipped themes retain visible focus treatment for interactive controls.
2.5.8 Target Size (Minimum)Partially supportsMeasured at a 375px viewport: all 22 mobile toolbar controls are 28 by 28 CSS pixels, or 24 by 24 for the colour pickers, meeting the 24 by 24 minimum this criterion requires. The 44 by 44 target belongs to 2.5.5 Target Size (Enhanced), Level AAA, and is not claimed. Third-party image-editor controls remain outside this claim, which is why this is not marked Supports.
3.3.1 Error IdentificationSupportsUpload and dialog validation exposes field-associated error text.
4.1.2 Name, Role, ValueSupportsControls expose accessible names and roles; toggle commands expose aria-pressed mirrored from the editor's own active state, and menu buttons keep aria-expanded accurate. Verifiable live at /trust/verify.
4.1.3 Status MessagesSupportsCollaboration, save, review and asynchronous operation status use live-region patterns.

Open requirements

  • Independent audit and formal VPAT/ACR are not published.
  • The optional third-party image editor is not fully keyboard accessible.
  • VoiceOver and TalkBack rotor behavior needs broader independent testing.
  • Authors remain responsible for alt text, meaningful links, headings and table headers.

Verification package

Release checks exercise toolbar focus, popup focus restoration, dialogs, keyboard-only commands, narrow layouts and semantic output. Buyers should reproduce these flows with their target browser, screen reader, skin and plugins.
