Paste plain text without formatting
Try a live editor configured to paste text without the source formatting. Copy formatted text from Word or a web page, then paste it into the editor below.
- Copy a short passage containing bold text, colored text, or links.
- Click inside the editor and paste using Ctrl+V on Windows or Command+V on Mac.
- Check that the words remain without the original styling. You can apply new formatting with the toolbar.

Enable plain-text paste in your application
After loading the editor scripts and stylesheet, set pasteMode when creating the editor:
<div id="editor"></div>
<script>
const editor = new RichTextEditor("#editor", {
pasteMode: "PasteText"
});
</script>This setting controls incoming pasted content. It does not convert existing editor content to plain text, disable the formatting toolbar, or replace server-side HTML sanitization.
Need to keep formatting instead?
Compare pasting from Word or return to all editor demos. For installation steps and a runnable project, download a framework example.
